Currently, some designers are pushing the boundaries, turning their designs into concrete acts of nurturing. Today technology is rapidly re-establishing the boundaries between self and the other, in ways that redefine the nature of humans in relation to non-humans. Some say that this is a threat to humanity, whilst others believe it is a possibility for change that gives us hope. Time will tell, but this is one of the greatest challenges of our time. "디자인은 궁극적으로 그리고 숙명적으로 양육 (nurture)의 한 형태일 수 밖에 없다. 디자인은 우리의 생활을 더 좋게, 풍성하게, 혹은 효율적으로 변화시키기 위한 핵심적인 도구 혹은 요소 (agents)로서 역할을 하며, 계속해서 우리와 기술의 경계 혹은 인간과 비인간적인 모든 것과의 상호작용을 새롭게 정의하면서 변화를 양육해 나갈 것이다." - From Alice Rawsthorn's opening statement

NEWS N UPDATES. DOMUS ACADEMY ALUMNI AWARDS 2018 ANNOUNCES THE WINNER, LUCA TARASCO

Luca Tarasco, Master in Product Design 2012, has been recognized as the most successful Alumnus as a result of the online voting phase and evaluation of the committee. As a social entrepreneur, Luca focuses on social innovation projects and cultural inclusion, applying the digital start-up methodologies and mentality to the social field.

In 2017 he won the “Open Care” prize, a project funded by the European Commission and was chosen by UNIDO (United Nations for Industrial Development) to present his HUBility project, a HUB of social and job innovation that includes disabled people in its governance, making them promoters and developers of solutions. Since October 2017, he is also the International Youth Ambassador for Italy at Nepal Youth Parliament.

Luca’s significant contribution and talent will be honored in occasion of Domus Academy Alumni Reunion on 19th April, 2018during the DA Alumni Awards Ceremony celebrating the ‘Best Domus Academy Alumnus of 2017’.

두번째 Alumni Award 의 주인공으로 2012년 제품 디자인 졸업생이자 사회적 기업 컨설팅 회사를 운영중인 Luca Tarasco가 선정되었습니다. 이번 해 UNIDO 유럽연합의 Open Care 상을 수상한 HUBility 프로젝트가 큰 주목을 받아 최종 우승자로서의 영광을 안게 되었습니다. 시상식은 4월 19일에 개최되는 <도무스아카데미 동문회 in 살로네> 때 진행될 예정입니다.
